Do you have a dog? Do you have an iPhone? If you answered yes to both of those questions, do yourself a favor and go download Dog Whistler. This simple app mimics the sound of a dog whistle as you press the whistle picture on your screen. You can adjust the sound range from 800HZ to 2200HZ, and even set four different presets. I am sure each dog will respond to different ranges, but my Pugs would immediately turn their heads at about 3100HZ and my border collie only perked up for 3400HZ. I don’t use a real dog whistle so I cannot speak to how well it really works in practice, but its a heck of a lot of fun to “blow” the whistle and watch my dogs freak out. Its also pretty interesting for humans too. I found my fiance could hear a lot farther up the HZ range than I could. The app looks great and the sound it emits is very clear and loud. Dog Whistler is a free app in the App Store and can be found with this iTunes link. Give it a shot and sound off in the comments if you had success using it “for real”.

I had my doubts, but after I downloaded the app and was messing with it in the living room my kids looked up at me, told me to stop, then left the room. Unexpected benift
But then I tried it on my dogs, at first it didn’t work. That is what I expect. Without much hope of success I changed the range a few times. Then Buddy tilted his head and walked away. I called him back over and he jumped up on me. After using this app he got down and dulled away. This worked for jumping on furniture, the kids, etc. In my amazemt it worked. But a side note. My beagle never responded. Your results may vary. It is worth the download and a few min of tweaking to see if you can get a humane way to dicipline your pets or just annoy your kids or spouse
I have used it on our chronic barkers next door. It really stops them. I can train the neighbors dog without them even knowing. I give it 5 stars.

I love this app!
Can’t believe it is free- I made sure I clicked on the ads a few extra times to support app developers that give us free cool apps!
Anyway, give it a try- super fun. Don’t try to drive your dogs crazy with- save it for the tweens loitering at your favorite hole-in-the-wall
(Just Kidding!)
Excellent blog, very imformative and to the point, keep up the good work.
lol.. Never thought that would even be possible to get such a high tone out of an iphone
My sincere opinion is that you should consider dog health before using it again. I understand that it may seem funny watching your dog “freak out”, but I don't think the dog is having as much fun as you do.
