Since updating the iPhone OS 3.0 to Beta 5 on thursday I have seen increased “snappiness” in the overall operation of applications with my phone. However, there have been a few issues that have been blatantly surfacing on this particular beta more so than any of the previous versions.
No keyboard when in Safari:
In Safari when I press on a blank area to type into I am finding that the normal keyboard is not appearing at all. I can still type by pressing the buttons, however the keyboard does not actually show up.

Signal drop:
The WiFi issue from Beta 4 seems to be fixed. However, I am now having problems with my signal. While standing still in a location that I have five-bars of signal (my house) the phone will occassionally drop all signal and display the word “searching”.

No text message notification:
When receiving text messages I have found that my phone occasionally will not vibrate or make a noise. This means many missed text messages etc.
I understand that this is simply a beta and issues are to be expected. I am writing this because one might wonder, with each new beta stage iPhone OS 3.0 gets progressively better. Could beta 5 be a step backward in some aspects?

I'm on an iPod Touch 1G and I have had none of those problems like the keyboard in Safari not showing up. I have noticed that the whole experience has gotten a lot 'snappier' also.
